Dalby Forest played host to the British Gravel Championships, where Ribble’s Outliers lined up against the very best in the country. With a mix of technical trails, relentless climbs, and unpredictable weather, the weekend was a showcase of everything that makes gravel racing so demanding and so exciting.
Time Trial Success
The Championships opened with Friday’s individual time trial, a short but savage test against the clock. Changing conditions made the course even trickier, with slick sections catching riders out. But the Outliers rose to the challenge.
- Sophie Wright delivered a blistering ride to secure 2nd place in the Elite Women’s TT, setting the tone for the weekend.
- In the men’s race, Jenson Young was unstoppable, storming to victory and claiming the title of British Gravel TT Champion.
- Teammates Harry, Metheven and Hayley backed both up strongly, landing the team an impressive haul of top spots.
It was a statement start - The Outliers first taste of silverware before the main event had even begun.
Championship Racing: Bar-to-Bar Battles
Sunday brought the marquee races, with the pressure dialled up and the country’s strongest gravel riders on the start line. The Elite fields didn’t disappoint, delivering an all-out contest from the gun.
- Sophie backed up her TT podium with another standout ride, taking 3rd place in the Elite Women’s race after a fierce battle across the Dalby trails.
- Jenson showed grit and determination in the Elite Men’s race, finishing 4th - just outside the medals but proving once again he’s among Britain’s best.
Across the board, the Outliers put themselves in the mix, fighting through brutal conditions and relentless competition to secure results that put Ribble firmly on the national stage.
