At the sharp end of racing, the difference is made in the fine margins.
Sophie Wright’s ULTRA-GRIT Special Edition is built for those margins. A one-off race bike built by our development team to be lighter, more focused and stripped back to what matters.
You won’t find this exact bike for sale, but you can ride what it’s built from.
Built around performance

After a breakthrough season with the Ribble Outliers last year, Sophie was full of ideas. A self-confessed weight-weeny (she’s removed bar tape to reduce grams) she posed the challenge – could we reduce the weight of her Ultra-Grit without compromising the control and handling in the bike that put her on numerous podiums.
So we stripped it back, removing the internal frame storage and replacing the ubiquitous Outlier Pink colourway with a fine lacquer over the bare carbon frame. What remains is a performance-first finish, marked with a signature flash of Ribble Outliers pink.
Every component earns its place:
- Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels for speed and stability
- Schwalbe Thunder Burt tyres for fast rolling grip
- SRAM Red groupset for precise, reliable shifting
- Selle Italia saddle for comfort over long race efforts
No extras. No compromise. Just what delivers on race day.
Built and tuned for the racer
Like every Outliers’ bike, Sophie’s bike is assembled, set-up and refined to match how she rides and what her racing style demands.
Every Ribble is built the same way. Built to order and hand-assembled by a single mechanic, so nothing gets lost in the process and very detail is exactly how it needs to be.

Proven where it counts
ULTRA-GRIT has already been raced hard by the Ribble Outliers, tested across the kind of terrain that exposes weaknesses quickly. It’s proven on podiums, in real conditions, against riders who don’t leave much room for error.
What this Special Edition does is take that same foundation and pushes it further.
What it means for your ride
You might be able to ride this one-off build, but you’ll find the same ethos in every ULTRA-GRIT:
- Speed across mixed terrain
- Confidence when the surface changes
- Efficiency over long distances
- A setup that works as hard as you do
Whether you’re racing, chasing your own targets, or just riding further and faster than before, it’s built to keep working with you, not against you.

ULTRA-GRIT leads the charge, but it sits within a wider gravel line-up designed for different styles of riding, all built on the same focus on performance and control to get you exploring .
